My first time and I cannot wait to return. The service was spot on our server was knowledgeable about the entrees offered and provided alternatives based on what we shared. The food arrived at the table quickly and was hot!! Everything we got was delish. Crabby fries who would have thought of such a combo. I had the creamy Alfredo and OMG. We eat at a lot of authentic Italian restaurants and this creole Italian fusion DELICIOUS!! Drinks were spot on too
Yum. Yum. And, yum. Even though the space and menu present like other BOB restaurants in major cities, this one rises above many with top-notch service and excellent food. We did book a reservation and saw that it was truly need as several people were turned away because the restaurant was full. Our server brought us a sample shot of their rum punch... mmmhmmm mmmhmmm good! We had the spinach-artichoke dip, and it was so good. It was a little oily from the cheeses but was full of artichokes (my faves) and seafood. We shared the seafood trio, and it was delicious. We are glad that we shared because there is no way that we would have finished an entree on our own.
It's almost impossible to get a reservation here which was shocking bc it was barely anyone inside when we got there. They don't seat you until your entire party is there. Service is good but almost too good. They came over to the table probably about 20+ times and we were there less than 90 minutes. We ordered 3 appetizers and they were all delicious (I forgot a photo of the crabby fries). The cognac shrimp pasta was good but EXTREMELY greasy. I went to eat my leftovers and had to drain the oil off just to eat. I wouldn't order that again.
This was an experience of a lifetime. I'm here for business. I was seeking out food with flavor. The hotel food wasn't pleasing at all. The seafood dip was savory and lip smacking good. The pasta was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. The bartender was attentive and customer friendly. The LSD was refreshing . The ambiance was giving date night vibes. But, I was with my coworker. This is definitely a spot to revisit .
Calling all Seafood Lovers!! Provaré is an Italian-Creole Fusion restaurant located in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago. We stayed at the Godfrey Hotel, so the commute wasn't far at all. Reservations are highly requested, and I second that. You will wait if you don't take the initiative. The restaurant was nicely decorated and had a cool atmosphere. The bar is beautiful. Seating is comfortable. The waitress was bubbly and met us with "Welcome Shots" after being seated. Cool! She immediately told us some of her faves and recommendations, although my friend and I had already scoured the menu before going. We received water and placed our drink orders. Drinks: I got the Randolph. My friend, the Chicago Ave. All of their drinks are named after the streets of Chicago. Charming. Soon after, we submitted our food choices. Appetizers: I went with the Crabby Fries. Friend chose the Spinach and Artichoke Dip. The dip was the star! It was so flavorful, and the shrimp was plentiful throughout. The waffle fry they use for the Crabby Fries was a wise choice. Entrée: I chose the Shrimp Cognac Scampi. I added their Trio Sauce to my dish for more spice. It was perfect. My friend had the Lemon Pepper Chicken Alfredo. She enjoyed her dish.. Their portions are huge! Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and took so much food back to the hotel. I want to come back. I just need to fast beforehand, lol!
Recommend making reservations but this place is amazing and I'll definitely be back. The service was phenomenal, the music and vibes were vibing. The grown vibes were appreciated. Our server was friendly and answered all my questions...I always have questions. Enjoyed the free shot of rum punch when you're seated. I didn't ask, but hope there's an option for those that don't drink alcohol. Drinks: 7/10 good flavor, visually pleasing but less ice and a tad more liquor in the drinks. I can't recall the names of the drinks we had but I would try something else on my next visit. Salmon egg rolls: 8/10 not a fan of the corn, maybe another veggie but other than that, really great flavor, fresh, not too greasy and the aioli was delicious. Get extra on the side if you're a sauce lover like me. Spinach and artichoke dip: 9/10 wish there was more bread, you might have to get extra if you're sharing or plan to take some home. The addition of crawfish and shrimp take this to another level. Lamb chops with corn: 8/10 lamb chops had good flavor but the corn was the star of this dish. Nice little kick, fantastic flavor just wish there was more of it. Get a side if you're curious because whoever gets this dish, will not want to share it with you. Drunken pasta: 9/10 added chicken and a lamb chop. The sauce was super flavorful, and enjoyed the shrimp and chicken. The chicken was moist and was seasoned well. The lamb chop wasn't bad, just not for the person who ordered it. Shrimp scampi: 9/10 fresh and hot. loved the pasta and flavor was on point. Instead of the scampi, I ordered it with the seafood trio sauce. Unbelievable! the lamb chops, were a nice addition but next time I'm going to add chicken.
It doesn't get any better than this! The food is cooked to perfection and seasoned extremely well. The service is amazing and they recently renovated the space it's larger and they have a speakeasy on the lower level. Everything is five out of five! This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion or if you want to impress your date, this is the place to be.
After hearing rave reviews about this place, my friends and I finally decided to book a table and enjoy ourselves a night out. Our waitress Kiara was great and provided wonderful service even though she told us she was new. The food however, was good but I can't say it was memorable. The majority of the menu is heavy greasy food, so order with moderation. The highlights of the evening were the spinach artichoke dip and the seafood trio pasta. The butter cake was also tasty so save room. All our food had generous portions of protein on them. Nothing stood out as being bad, but given there are so many other restaurants to try in the area I can't say I'd return any time soon.
